Timber Evaluation

Kreis Sawmill offers professional timber evaluation services for homeowners and land owners who need certified expertise on the value of their timber or urban trees.

Professional timber evaluation helps ensure that you receive an accurate estimate of the value of your timber, and helps you make an informed decision as to whether it should be processed for lumber or other uses, such as firewood or chipped.

Value is not simply determined by the specimen’s diameter. The bark surface must be examined and the presence & position of defects noted to accurately determine the grade.

Steve Kreis has a degree in forestry from OSU, and experience working with the US Forestry Service cruising timber. With 30 years experience running a sawmill and evaluating lumber and timber, he is uniquely qualified to determine the value of your trees.

Timber Evaluation is offered in a 50-mile radius of the Marysville, Ohio area.
